After my first time using the charger, I attempted to remove the unit from the wall. As I pulled on the silver painted outer half of the device it came free from the back half. I bought this external charger to charge the supplemental batteries I bought for longer excursions. It's awesome and works well with the Olympus battery, and the second one (off brand) I bought (found on Amazon). Works great! Awesome price! No wires needed if used on an AC outlet and only a thin unobtrusive wire needed if charging with a DC (Car Socket) power supply. Easliy toss this into your bag and go. Never have to worry about your battery running out of power, and if it does it will be recharged relatively quickly. Great quality and versatility at a fantastic price. It's not Rocket Science, but Olympus really dropped the ball with the AC (115v) only charger, especially since it's an advertised rugged sports camera. I was excited when I found this aftermarket combo. Fit's my needs perfectly. Rating: 5 / 5 It’s nice to have a charger that works on AC & DC.
