It’s nice to have a charger that works on AC & DC. Being able to charge my camera batteries on the road & cruising new destinations in my sailboat is an absolute necessity. It’s not Rocket Science, but Olympus really dropped the ball with the AC (115v) only charger, especially since it’s an advertised rugged sports camera. I was excited when I found this aftermarket combo. Fit’s my needs perfectly.

This charger is both very conveniant and easily portable. No wires needed if used on an AC outlet and only a thin unobtrusive wire needed if charging with a DC (Car Socket) power supply. Easliy toss this into your bag and go. Never have to worry about your battery running out of power, and if it does it will be recharged relatively quickly. Great quality and versatility at a fantastic price.

Bought it to charge batteries for my Nikon D200. Opened the package, turned it over and read the warning, “Carefully read user manual before use.”…. only there is no user manual and no website to download one.
Ok, how hard can it be, right? Put in the battery, doesn’t fit all the way in, which is a little confusing. Plug it in, get a red light saying it is charging. After a while, the light changes to green. Only what the hell does the red light on “Status” mean?
Cheap Chinese junk.

The camera I use this charger with is my Olympus Stylus Tough 8000, which has an internal charger. I bought this external charger to charge the supplemental batteries I bought for longer excursions. It’s awesome and works well with the Olympus battery, and the second one (off brand) I bought (found on Amazon). Works great! Awesome price!

This charger works as advertised but is very poorly constructed. After my first time using the charger, I attempted to remove the unit from the wall. As I pulled on the silver painted outer half of the device it came free from the back half. I am now going to try soldering the thing back together…..I guess you get what you pay for.
